Venkateshwara Homoeopathic Medical College

Venkateswara Homoeopathic Medical college is a self financing institution ,run by Hahnemann Homoeopathic Medical Trust College from the academic year 2000 -2001 for turning out medical graduates in the system of homoeopathy. The management provides the best infrastructural facilities like Land, Building, Hospital and College Equipments, Laboratories, Hostel, well experienced faculty members and administrative staff in the homoeopathic medical college .

Hahnemann Homoeopathic Medical Trust was constituted and registered on 28.12.1994, with the object of imparting the system of homoeopathy and rendering social service to society, for improving the quality of health. Keeping this in mind the trust started a medical college in the name of Venkateswara Homoeopathic Medical College from the academic year 2000 -2001 in its own building in picturesque location opposite to Porur lake at 6/177– A, Mount Poonamalle Road, Porur, Chennai 600116 to bring out medical graduates in Homoeopathy and also to carry out Research and Development in Homoeopathic Science.

Thiru .V.K. Arumugam was the founder of “ Hahnemann Homoeopathic Medical Trust”. He was basically an engineering graduate. He was an industrialist, philanthropist and social worker. He got cured of his chronic gastritis & hereditary asthma with homoeopathic system and was inspired by the principles of the system. So he admitted his elder daughter Dr. A. Sakuntala to study the course, in the Government Homoeopathic Medical College which was in Chennai in 1976.

He wanted poor people, to be benefited by the system. With this thought he started the medical trust initially at his industrial complex no.121, Kuntrathur road , Porur, Chennai.
As the number of patients increased day by day, he had an ambitious programme of constructing a separate building for starting hospital in the year 1995. To do proper practice a good training is essential. On this motive to produce well trained doctors in homoeopathy, he started the college also in the academic year 2000 – 2001. His ambition is still to have research and development in homoeopathy to render better medical treatment to the public. This great task is being carried by his son Thiru. A. Sivasubramani B.E., who is the Managing Trustee, to fulfill the dreams of his father.
