This School is run by Seva Samajam – Guild of Service(central). The school was established as Special School with 6th to 8th standard in the year 1956 to cater the educational needs of institutionalized children like Destitute and Handicapped. Later in 1972 it was upgraded as High School and in 1989 as Higher Secondary School.

This school has provided the quality education including vocational education for more than 2500 boys and girls from the most vulnerable families living in and around saligramam. The school has the unique distinction of being the only Higher Secondary School in the State of Tamilnadu, offering the vocational option at Higher Secondary Level.

1. Students from 8th Std are selected for Polaris Scholarship and are continuously given the scholarship till 12 Std.
2. The school is grateful to all its well wishers and sponsors for their constant support and financial help.
3. Every year our students get the first place in the competitions conducted outside the school.
4. Every year Teacher’s Day is celebrated as Guru- Shishya Day in order to give respect to teachers and parents.
5. To create awareness among the students about festivals, we celebrate Chirsmas, Deepavali, Pongal in the school campus.
6. For successful placements, the list of trainees(appeared and appearing candidates) are sent to esteemed companies and organisations every year.

The Guild of Service (Central) established in 1923 now enters its 87th year in the field of organized social service in India. It has been involved through 19 units, 4 projects in Chennai and 18 branches all over the country, in programmes aimed at the welfare and empowerment of the under privileged, especially women and children.

The Guild of Service has had a transition from Institutionalized care to community based programmes with the focus on the family. The Guild has also undertaken programmes for livelihood training, poverty alleviation and women’s empowerment. The Guild of Service is also initiating projects to create awareness among women and adolescents girls.
